I believe that at the center of our physical, emotional, financial, and spiritual selves is our health. Health affords freedom to pursue our life's goals of building resilience, happiness, independence, and wealth. Of course the surest way to maintain health is prevention of disruption and protection from adverse outcomes. But disruption often occurs despite our best wishes and efforts. We must also take action when necessary to hopefully correct or mitigate problems before they become irreparably harmful.
My role in the care of patients is to define the presence if uncertain, or the degree if certain, of a cardiovascular condition. If present, I work to the extent of my ability to treat or correct the cardiovascular issue through evidence-based medical or procedural intervention. If not present, I educate and support patients with resources and plans to avoid preventable cardiovascular conditions.
I make an agreement with my patients to perform to the best of my ability in a partnership with them in realizing their optimal cardiovascular health. Patients who partner with me realize that I ask only that they do their part in this arrangement by being open to new ideas, recognize room for improvement, and trust that my staff and I have their best interests in mind.
